Jacob copied every page in the book. The snail and chicken were my favourites.
Then he got creative.
A cement truck.
Then Daniel decided he wanted to get involved.
A baby lamb.
So much fun. I saved the pieces to play again another day.
Note: We are drawing using dry erase markers on clear page protectors.

Excellent! I saw this book come through at our library too, but hadn't thought about it as something I could do in storytime... THese look great!
Ashley, You could do it on your felt board probably....
A felt board story for sure, but I think I'll follow your lead and try it as a craft sometime too.
Let me know he it goes! Jacob was way more into it than Daniel was, so it might be too much for the three year old crowd.
I did this craft with my 3-5 year olds this week (15 of them) and it was GREAT! I had the pieces cut out for them, gave them a piece of blank paper, a glue stick and some pencil crayons. Some kids were kind of at a loss for what to do, until I brought the book out again so they could copy some of the animals if they wanted. I was most happy about the surprises though... two cats, a daddy, an alien and a jellyfish! I'll definitely do this again. Thank you for sharing your idea!
Awesome! Now I want to go try and make a jellyfish myself... :)
