So I made homemade fudge-posicles. Delicious! Here's the recipe:
3/4 cups sugar
3 tbsps flour
3 tbsps cocoa powder
4 cups milk
Mix first three ingredients in Saucepan. Slowly add milk, stirring until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil for two minutes. Cool slightly. Pour into molds. Makes 10 3oz Popsicles.
I halved the recipe except did 2tbsps cocoa. I used whole wheat flour because I figured it wouldn't make a difference. And I used whole milk because apparently that makes them creamier and less "icy." I made 8 Popsicles, so I guess my molds are small.
... So this recipe had 4 ingredients, and tastes delicious, took 5 minutes to make and half a day to freeze. Go to www.Popsicle.com to see that fudgsicles have 17 ingredients! Don't get me wrong, I love fudgsicles and would never turn one down, but maybe as consumers we need to be more knowledgable about what is in our food. Maybe someday we will realize that we don't need all this extra stuff in our food to make it taste good. I mean, why can't frozen chocolate milk just be frozen chocolate milk? Because that is essentially what a fudge-Popsicle is.
